Hagley Park is empty, all the cars are dark.
The riverwalk's deserted, all the geese are gone.
Canterbury Garden, and Tūranga too,
The pigeon trap is just scaffolding and shockproof.
They rebuilt this city from the ground up.
They rebuilt this city, but it's never done.
Seven thirty and the whole square's hushed.
I was filming at the fault line, at the hole.
You were imitating pigeons,
And I gotta say they all looked right at home.
The birds don't mind the Bolex wind -
